Penumbra's manufacturing associates spend every shift building advanced surgical tools to address stroke, embolism, and other neurovascular conditions. However, because the manufacturing and marketing departments follows different organizational and naming conventions for products, many manufacturing associates didn't know which product on the company's website they were building or how their line's subassembly fit into it.Â
I researched Penumbra's full product catalog to reconcile manufacturing naming conventions with commercial product names. I designed and developed 32 SharePoint product pages, each connecting a manufacturing product (or family of products) to its commercial identity and medical applications. A key challenge: adapting physician-facing marketing content into plain, conversational English. I also linked the landing page to patient story videos on Penumbra's website to show manufacturing associates some of the real people who have been helped by the products they build.
